Rules & Regulations
*All Racers Must Read*

General Racer and Site Rules

 

  • All Racers and their Co-pilots who participate in this event agree upon entering the property that they are doing so at their own risk and agree to accept total responsibility for anything that may happen to them.

  • Racers and their Co-pilots must wear the Racer wristband at all times.

  • All Racers, Pit crew, Volunteers and co-pilots must complete the SpeedWaiver prior to arriving at the event.

  • All Racers and Co-pilots require appropriate safety gear. See Safety Gear section below for more details.

  • All Racers and Co-pilots MUST attend the driver's safety meeting held before each race day.

 

Tech Inspections

​

  • Tech Inspections must be completed to race.  Upon arriving at the track please see a Tech Inspector to have your vehicle inspected.

  • Tech Inspections will be completed Friday and Saturday morning. Don’t delay, have your truck inspected promptly. No late entries!

  • Once your tech sheet is done Racers must bring Tech sheets to registration to finalize registration.

  • Tech reserves the right to decline an unsafe entry but will only do so in extreme situations.

  • Number plates will be given out at registration. No number plate, no racing.

 

Professional Etiquette

​

  • The use of drugs and alcohol is not permitted during event hours. If a driver is found to be impaired and/or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, their vehicle will not compete for the remainder of the event. The driver will be disqualified and forfeit winnings from the race. Refunds for registration will not be issued.

  • No high-speed driving or hot-rodding by any motorized vehicles including race vehicles and pit vehicles.  Please use care and watch for pedestrians and children.

  • Quiet time is from 10pm to 8am. No loud vehicles are to be fired up or driven around during quiet time.

  • We expect all attendees to behave in a professional manner, no use of aggressive profanity or threats to fellow attendees, volunteers or track officials.

  • No riding on exterior of any vehicles including pit vehicles, buggies or race trucks. If a vehicle is moving the driver and any passengers must be seated correctly inside vehicle at all events.

  • Upon entering the site, all operators of any type of Pit vehicle agree to ride at their own risk. The use of helmets when operating ATV’s, Bicycles, E-bikes and Scooters is highly recommended.

  • All racers will take responsibility for any spills caused by fluids. We have spill kits onsite and a contaminated soil disposal tote. Please see a track official if your truck has a spill and they will assist you. 

 

Alcohol (Methanol) Vehicles

​

  • Vehicles running alcohol should have a functional, on-board system (3 nozzle) capable of extinguishing alcohol fires.

  • All vehicles running Methanol or Ethanol (E85) must let track officials know so they are prepared for a fire. This can be mentioned at the drivers meeting.

  • Drivers of alcohol vehicles must wear an alcohol approved fire suit including shoes, gloves and balaclava.

 

Number Plates

​

  • Number plates will be handed out to drivers when they finalize registration with their tech sheet, please zap strap your number plate to the front of your vehicle where it's visible to track officials.

  • Please return your number plate to registration at the end of the race weekend. There will be a tote outside the door of registration to return the number plates.

Safety Requirements

For J-Hook, Obstacle Course and Hill Climb (Including side by sides)

 

Vehicles and Occupant

​

  • Occupants must be able to get in and out of the vehicle quickly and easily unassisted.  

  • Vehicles must have an adequate fire wall separating occupants from a fire in the engine compartment or with the fuel system.

  • All seats must be securely mounted. Seats must fully support the entire back and neck of occupants. No low back seats.

  • Floorboards are required and must adequately protect the occupants in the cab.

  • No bald tires.

  • No loose objects or materials allowed in vehicle cab or box.

  • Vehicles must have recovery points on the front and back.

  • Obstacle course racers must have a winch. Steel winch lines must be used with a weight, or racers can use a synthetic winch line. 

  • All vehicles must have doors or door bars to protect the occupants in case of a rollover.

  • Drivers strapped in must be able to reach ignition switch and fuel switch in case of a rollover.

  • Fuel tanks or cells must be securely mounted. Batteries must be securely mounted. No Bungees or ratchet straps.

  • All vehicles must have working brakes.

Safety Gear

​

  • DOT, Snell or equivalent helmets are required.

  • All racers must run with a foam neck donut or better. Neck restraint devices such as a Hans or Hybrid is recommended.

  • Full face helmets or eye protection required. 

  • No beanie or skull cap type helmets allowed.

  • Minimum of fire-retardant outerwear or single layer fire suit required. Appropriate fire suit required for methanol vehicles.

  • Racers must wear appropriate shoes with full coverage.

  • Must have a functional fire extinguisher mounted in easy driver access.

  • All vehicles must have a minimum of a 4-point harness for both occupants.

  • Window nets or wrist restraints highly recommended for both occupants unless the occupant’s arms can’t not reach outside the exterior of the vehicle.

 

Roll Cages

​

  • All vehicles must have roll cages.

  • All cages must be built from a minimum of 1 5/8" .120 tubing. Heavier vehicles should have 2” .120 tubing or better.

  • Cages must fully protect occupants.

  • Cages must be mandrel bent and all connecting points must be properly welded.

  • Bars must be a reasonable and adequate distance above the occupant’s heads and helmets must not surpass the Cage heights.

  • Cages must have crossbars or Y bars.

  • Questionable Cages will not pass.

  • Vehicles must have a roof or metal plate to over occupants in case of rollover.

  • Seat belt bars should be 1 to 2 inches below the shoulder.

Class Info for Each Course/ Track

 

J Hook Classes

 

Modified Class

​

  • Any truck or Truggy modified or built for off-road use such as Tough Trucks, Built Trail Trucks or Mud Trucks.

  • All vehicles MUST have roll cage.

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver.

  • Rear Kill switch highly recommended but not required.

  • No blown alcohol allowed.

 

 

Outlaw Class

​

  • Any purpose-built competition vehicles such as Mega trucks, Buggies and Bouncers. Built for off-road racing or competition.

  • Must be 37” tires and bigger

  • A rear Kill switch is required.

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver. No co-pilot allowed in methanol vehicles.

  • No limitations on engine configurations.

  • Must have fuel cell, no factory fuel tanks.

 

Side by Side Class

​

  • Sport, racing or modified side by sides with structurally sound roll cages.

  • If your machine was previously in a rollover and the cage integrity has been impacted Tech may not allow you to race.

  • A reinforced factory cage or an aftermarket cage is recommended.

  • No co-pilot allowed.

Obstacle Course Classes

 

Modified (Small Tire Class)

​

  • 33” to 44” tires

  • Any truck or truggy modified with roll cage for offroad use.

  • All vehicles MUST have roll cage.

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver.

  • Rear Kill switch highly recommended but not required.

 

Outlaw (Big Tire Class)

​

  • 45” tire and bigger

  • Any purpose-built vehicle for the intent of off-road racing or competition.

  • A rear Kill switch is required.

  • No limitations on engine configurations.

  • Must have fuel cell, no factory fuel tanks.

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver.

 

Side by Side Class

​

  • Sport, racing or modified side by sides with structurally sound roll cages.

  • If your machine was previously in a rollover and the cage integrity has been impacted Tech may not allow you to race.

  • A reinforced factory cage or an aftermarket cage is recommended.

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver.

Hill Climb Challenge

 

  • Must be purpose-built vehicle with 6 point roll cage and roof in case of rollover.

  • Window nets or Wrist restraints highly recommended.

  • Must have at minimum a foam neck donut but a Neck restraint devices such as a Hans or Hybrid is highly recommended.

  • Vehicles should have working four-wheel drive but it is not mandatory. 

  • Co-pilot allowed but must have required harness, seat and safety gear equivalent to that of the driver.

**Waivers**

All Racers, Co-pilots, Pit Crew and anyone with a pit vehicle MUST read and complete the online Speedwaiver before the event weekend, this includes the guardians of minors racing. There is an Adult Speedwaiver and a Minor Speedwaiver. The link will be posted in several places. Once you complete your waiver we ask racers to take a screenshot of the waiver to show upon arriving at registration on Friday or Saturday for quicker check in. 

 

If you don’t complete the Speedwaiver ahead of time an additional $10 fee will be charged.
